Content, content everywhere, and not a moment to think 😩

The hardest thing about social media, IMHO, is that you’re expected to create SO. MUCH. CONTENT. Like, all the time. And that requires a lot of brainstorming and researching, which is almost as time-consuming as content creation itself!

If you need help coming up with content ideas, start here:

  • Sales call recordings (If you don’t have access to these, try asking your friendliest sellers about the most common questions and objections they get.)

  • CSM call recordings (Same deal as above.)

  • G2/Trustpilot reviews

  • Scroll through your competitors’ pages

  • Scroll through content from your competitors’ leadership team

  • Read through posts and comments in relevant Reddit groups (This is seriously a gold mine of ideas!)

  • Start following your target audience on LinkedIn — What topics are they talking about? What angles are they using? Which posts are getting the most attention?

  • Do the same for X/Twitter and Bluesky

  • Subscribe to industry/niche newsletters to keep up with resources and news

  • Set up Google Alerts for industry publications or topics

  • Mine your company’s knowledge base or FAQs

  • Think outside the B2B box and browse through your favorite B2C brands for inspiration — I personally love seeing what Libby is up to on Instagram, what the National Park Service is doing on LinkedIn, and what local libraries are doing on TikTok.

  • Ask your SDR/BDR team for ideas – you might be surprised by how good they are at it!

  • Dig through past content from your company page — What can be repurposed or reposted? Are there any new angles to apply?

  • Upcoming in-person events or conferences

  • Look through recent questions and discussions in your company’s Slack

  • While you’re there, also look for recent customer wins that might spark an idea

  • Create a virtual suggestion box that anyone in the company can submit ideas to

  • Browse through your backlog of blog posts (if you have any) for evergreen tips and insights

  • If you don’t have a backlog of blog posts, see what your competitors or industry leaders have published — use those resources to inspire new ideas and angles from your brand’s POV!

  • Has your CEO been on any podcasts or webinars lately? Watch/go through the transcripts.

This isn’t an exhaustive list, but hopefully, it gives you some places to start!
