Here are my recommendations for setting your Company Page up for success:

My Pages > Edit page

Header

  • Update page info, including your logo and easy-to-understand tagline

  • Set up your page’s buttons

    • Will you allow LinkedIn members to message your Page directly? Pro: more opportunities to provide customer support. Cons: must be monitored consistently, and you will get cold outreach.

    • Set up a custom button to drive traffic to a relevant landing page of your choice.

Home

  • OPTIONAL: Add featured posts

    • If you have any posts that have performed well or do a good job showcasing what your company is about, you can highlight them for the member view page.

About

  • Update page details

    • Write a company overview that’s easy to understand (avoid the techy jargon) and explains what you do. You can write up to 2,000 characters here but I’d recommend keeping it brief.

    • Update relevant details like URL, company size, company type, and industry.

  • Update info about the workplace, location, and company commitments

    • This is most relevant for recruiting/hiring, so it might be a good idea to tap HR for input here!

Leads

  • OPTIONAL: Set up a lead gen form

    • I personally don’t like the native lead gen form on company pages because all of the info lives within LinkedIn, so you have to monitor and track it separately—kind of a pain.

My Pages > Analytics > Competitors

Competitors

  • OPTIONAL: Edit/update a list of your competitors

    • You can use this as a simple litmus test to see how your efforts stack up to others in your space. They don’t even have to be direct competitors! Use it to keep eyes on your content crushes and see how your strategy stacks up.

My Pages > Create > Add a product*

*Note: Per LinkedIn, this feature is only available if your industry is listed as: business-to-business (B2B) software, computer hardware, financial services, insurance, education, healthcare, and pharmaceutical.

  • Set up your Flagship product page

    • There are two options for setting up product pages, and I think this is the more important of the two. A Flagship product page integrates with your Company Page and offers more options for adding details.

    • RECOMMENDED: Add featured customers, ideally ones that best reflect your ICP. These will show up on your Company Page home view and can lend credibility to your page. Social proof, baby!

  • OPTIONAL: Set up standard product pages

    • This might make sense for your page if your company has multiple, distinct products you want to promote.
